find a good exhaust guy cause i dont think that the stock piping is 2.5" so you need to get someone to fab it to the smaller stock piping.

i would be careful though.

2.5" is big, so maybe you can upgrade your stock piping to 2", but i wouldnt go any bigger, then it would all fit a little better

non-turbo cars still require a decent amount of back pressure.

people think they are doing their NA car good when they throw 2.5"+ exhaust tubing on thier car, and a bigass 4" muffler.

all thats going to do is lose you power. Your suppose to just upgrade slightly from stock if your going NA as opposed to turbo, because to much airflow causes a loss of power, if you stay around the 2" range, there will be no harm, because unless you go any smaller than stock, your still garunteed your standard horsepower

oh i have alot of exhaust work on my new b. from the header back it is 2.5 to the spipe that is not mandrel bent so it has some tights spots. to the resonator it is 2.5 after the resonator its like 1.75 on. the only stock piece of pipe i have on my car is the rear spipe or cross over pipe. i left it for some back pressure in the mean time till the turbo gets slapped on. here is how it sounds with a high flow cat inplace of the resonator, and a trd axle back with the strup header.

i have gen 1 xB with 3" piping and it runs ok... itll really help once you go turbo though with larger diameter piping..

well if you let me explain what i have under the car i wouldnt be arguing i have 2.5" from s-pipe to axle back with 2 resonators about 1' long each and they are 2.5" inlet and outlet and they build back pressure so i dont see a big hp gain or loss

hope this helps with some of the debate. seeing that this engine has VVT and constant fuel monitoring, some of the issues won't apply. lets keep it friendly. we're all driving the same car and want insight from others to make it that much better for the individual driver.
