Default Borla exhaust

With all the talk of exhaust I am more confused than ever. I was looking at the TRD exhaust and now I have found this Borla section that may do what I want at a less cost to my wallet.

I do not care about loud just performance. What are the thoughts of the group on this?
http://www.borla.com/media/prod_imag.../11756_med.jpg

It states a 9db increase in sound over stock, how loud would it be actually?

Any help would be great.

i know this is for the 2nd gen. xb but i am runnning the borla on my gen 1 and i love it. i think it gives the most as far as overall performance and sound quality. it will not make your car sound like a rice rocket but more like a performance car.

the performance is an increase and both HP and Torque. miind you mine is only a 1.5L engine so a little goes a long way.

I would say that if it is anything like the exhaust they make for the gen.1 go for it.

While I love BORLA as a company, there's no way I'd give a company $250+ for pipes & tips. There's no muffler on that setup.

The biggest impedance on our car's sound & performance is the massive resonator w/ a passive catalytic converter in it. Remove that and replace it with a more traditional resonator, or a glasspack, and you'll get a good sound.

I have the TRD axleback & removed the forward resonator... put a 15" glasspack in its place. No droning, no crazy resonance, just a strong & smooth sound. It has a medium sound level, so if you like super mellow exhausts just put a larger glasspack on (i.e. 18" - 21").

Just my .02

I did 2.5" in & out of the glasspack (not a resonator)... with 2.5" piping back to the TRD axleback (which is also 2.5"). The glasspack is 15" long. And no, I did NOT put back in a cat. Where I live, they don't do emissions control... only ODBII.

I don't have a sound clip yet (i've been sick as hell this past week... haven't seen outside in about 5 days, lol). I will soon.
