Default Newbie questions from a non-car person

Ok so be nice to me. I know nothing about cars but I want to fix up my 2013 scion xb. Well I want to make it faster and was wondering if there is a turbo kit or supercharger that will work with my car which is automatic. If so what other mods will I have to do to it? Once again please be nice to my ignorant butt and thanks in advance.

Supercharger no, the only one that was out there was the TRD unit and it was never reliable. Turbo yes. Check out Dezod.com and have a look at the various kits they offer. Being that you have an automatic you are going to want to stay with the lower power level units as the transmission cannot take a lot of extra power. Also realize that with adding a turbo to a car that was not designed for it you will need to do more frequent maintenance and inspections so that you are not surprised when something goes wrong. You will also want to educate yourself quite a bit about turbos and how they work. If you go over to the 1st gen tC section of this forum you will find a wealth of information in the forced induction section. tCs are boost much more commonly than the xB but much of the knowledge is transferable as they share the same engine and drivetrain.

You can also start w/the simple things

Delete the large Scuba resonator/cat & install a resonated pipe in its place like a Tsudo. Change the mid pipe & the axle back

Install a cold air intake. It will liven up the engine a bit but you will loose some bottom end & move it to the top of the RPM range
