Default Performance Throttle Body Spacer

just searching around for parts and this is something weird i've found. never heard of such a thing so i'm thinking it might be a gimmick just to get somebody to spend $$$. here a few link

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Scion...spagenameZWDVW

http://fastscions.com/index.asp?Page...ROD&ProdID=753

here is a link that show a dyno of this performance throttle body spacer with a light weight crank pulley dont know if its a real dyno

http://fastscions.com/index.asp?Page...ROD&ProdID=753

yeah, throttle body spacers don't work on fuel injected cars. and there was one guy with a tc a while ago that did a before and after dyno and showed a loss in power using the tb spacer.

they don't work. don't waste your money on them.

i read that with TB spacers with grooves in them for the "cyclone" effect it needed to be 6feet long in order for the effect to be noticable.

this gimmick probably used to work back in the carb days but this dont work anymore

Save your money. TB spacers are a waste of money. You would be best of buying an intake and exhaust for inexpensive mods.

well first its impossible to produce a consistent cyclone effect with a throttle body and intake manifold. that is because we have a intake manifold. the intake manifold is like a bucket with 4 holes on the side. no matter how you swirl the water in the bucket the water that comes out of the holes wont swirl.

this same concept/idea is the reason why throttle body spacers and those "turbonator" fans that go in the intake pipe dont work.

why throttle body spacers use to work in the past with carbs is cause the increased run/distance between the carb and the valves allowed more time for the fuel to properly atomize and mix with the air. we have fuel injection so this doesnt apply to us
