Yet another basic replacement comoonent question
I don't seem to have really and weights/ measures / specs / in the partial manual versions I've picked up am]long with way.
Looking for the (manual) tranny fluid capacity, though I am betting the tranny has both a fill hole and an empty hole so that you really can't over fill it. Guessing GL4/GL5 (can you use synthetic?).
Last vehicle was FWD auto trans, and I could have sworn I had to fill 3 types of fluid........ at least the differential was different than the ATF, and a wicked pain in the butt to drain and refill (Avalon).
What I am not familiar with are the total number of drivetrain fluids for FWD manual tranny vehicles. I have come from a long of RWD manual transmission cars; it's a no brainer what needs changing on those.
Are the only front engines / tranny fluids the motor oil and gear oil? Is the transaxle literally running the same fluid as in the tranny? gl4/gl5, 75-80W? Is synthetic OK to use? Just thinking of less frequent change intervals.
thanks
