Nice, spill the beans so i don't have to break anything finding out. Is it just LED replacement like the Gen1? I thought it might require some gel sheet for the digital display... How about some daytime shots?

total was 18 LEDs. turn signals, lcds, door open and gauges. I can do them, just mail me your gauges or come over my house if you're in philly. also I did his steering wheel Control. Hvac and the passanger airbag sensor soon.

I live on the other side of the country...

What kind of LEDs did you use?

Do you plan on making any kind of DIY?

Because that'd be pretty helpful

The tachometer and other gauges have amber on them. How do you get rid of that so that it shows blue?

The amber was not removed yet, the gauges actually match the color of the car when it's all done.

Is the gauges dim??
I would expect them to be pretty dark since blue light won't transmit through amber color that well...

I'll be testing one this week or next week..
Since friend of mine is Scion dealer manager.... he let me take part....
I didn't bring any tools to take apart the gauge cluster....
But he bought one for his gf and he want me to work on it...

I went to the Scion dealer today and took apart the gauge cluster... took many pictures...

Gauges have similar design as the older xB...
Just two LED lit up per gauge...
I've scanned the gauge face, but my scanning program auto trimed it(trimmed it way too much)..
So I have to go back tomorrow and scan the gauge face again..
Once I have scanned gauge face, I can make the template and design the gauge face what ever I want....
With stock gauge face, you are limted to certain colors... it seems like blue works...
But you can never get like white color...

Also I'll getting new xB really soon.... white one...

OK.. I've did the blue LED conversion on it..
Saw it at nightime...
On the gauge area, it looks like blueish-green.. and it's pretty dim...
It's no where near blue on the LCD screen......

well that's a pretty picture dasaint

been aching for some people around here asking for swaps into the new xB... but no really big market in my area quite yet.

still funny... i guess how crazy i am..
the first time i stepped into the NG xB (at Scion backstage prior to its public release and they had the pre-production cars to test drive)...

stepped in... sat down.... looked at gauges... and then did a yank at the plastic panels..... LOL... popped out like a charm..

and then did my test drive..

Scions are legos!!

Just for fun of it, I took it apart the dash... only few screws holds them in place.....
Most of them like pop pop it's taken apart... LOL
I'll post some picture of my xB soon.... it's white...
Waiting for some lowering springs... got wheels and it looks like SUV now.....

I've already done.. the side marker(extra bright)
Gauge cluster, I'll make the custom gauge face then play around with the circuit board to make the gauges light brighter....

Soon to come is HID, LED dome lights and rear trunk area light...
LED front turn-signal... rear break and turn-signal etc...
More and more to come....

^^ oh yeah.... Scions are legos...

i've already managed to freak out at least 6 people, 3 of which were looking to buy the car.. (LOL)..

just by yanking at things and things coming apart so easily before their very eyes...

.. it's just funny... one of the cars i yanked apart..... was still on the sales lot... one of the salesmen (which i did know) came out and told me to stop tearing it apart...
