Aftermarket xm/sirius satallite

Aftermarket xm/sirius satallite
I have an 08 cion xB.
It has a "Satellite Ready" stock head unit.
My wife bought me, a kit to install XM/Sirius Satellite in it.
That kit comes with a magnetic antenna.
My question:
There is a small 6" antenna on the back of my Scion near the back hatch.
Is that an antenna in which I could use for satellite radio?
I'm wondering, because its an aesthetically pleasing look,
as compared to the magnetic antenna supplied.
Second part of the question:
has anyone installed these aftermarket units,
with their stock head units, and how do you like it?
I have attached a picture of my stock head unit,
as well as all 3 items described below, for reference.
What I have to complete this install is:
(for those more knowledgable then me)...
1) Audiovox Carstream Toyota Bluetooth® Interface
Add Bluetooth and SiriusXM capability to the stock radio in select Scion vehicles (Model BT101TOY)
2) SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner
Enjoy SiriusXM satellite radio with your compatible aftermarket in-dash receiver (subscription sold separately by SiriusXM).
3) Audiovox AACCSATCBL
Connect the SiriusXM SXV200 or SXV300 tuner,
to your Audiovox MediaBridge interface

As to the first part of the question. No, you need to use the sat antenna for it to work, the stock one is AM/FM only. I would recommend putting it just behind the stock antenna. This will keep it as unobtrusive as possible and also lets you bring the wire in between the hatch and roof, bringing the connection in through the loon that has all the electrical line for the hatch in it.
I haven't done one on the Scion radio but used to put the original versions of these in cars and they work well. Just remember that the antenna needs line of sight reception to the satellites, so if you are in a dense urban area or under heavy trees and there are no repeaters in your area the sound will cut out. Doesn't happen often but it can.

Thank you so much foir your precise information.
That makes sense to put the magnetic antenna, back by the existing antenna.
Relly appreciate the info!

That's what i did, i placed the magnetic antenna behind the existing antenna. I also used 3m double sided tape so that the antenna doesn't come off during car washes. The only downside for me is that the wire sticks out alittle, thankfully no one has yanked on it.
