Where did you get the stealthbox for $500? I'm getting quoted $699 locally.

buddy has one, and it sounded decent, he wanted a new box, so I built box in spare tire well same size as the stealth box and it sounded 10 times better.
But to anybody wanting the stealth box, go to your local JL dealer, tell them on the jl site it talks about a club sponsorship for stealth boxes. I asked my dealer, and he says it basically covers a club, and they give pretty big discounts to anybody in your club on those boxes. I think I was told $450 for box and sub

How do I get sponsored by JL Audio?
We appreciate your interest in being sponsored by us! We receive hundreds of sponsorship requests every month. While it would be nice to make everyone happy, the reality is that we must be very selective in whom we work with.
Individual Sponsorships for show cars and competition cars:
If you are an individual seeking help with a vehicle project, we recommend that you work closely with your local authorized JL Audio dealer. Any requests for individual sponsorship must be made through an authorized dealer. Please be aware that we very rarely sponsor anyone and that those we do sponsor generally have a long history of commitment to JL Audio and of national-level competition success. For us to seriously consider a competition sponsorship request, you need to show that you have these qualifications. We will not sponsor anyone who competes in competition divisions that do not allow manufacturer support (novice, amateur and the like).

I have the stealthbox. I love it cause it's 'stealthy'. Before i just had a 12" enclosure with an Orion sub. It took up half the trunk.
I did pull the JL sub out and put the Orion sub in. To me it sounds great, not boomy at all. Ended up selling the sub to help with the cost of it.
I also turned my spare tire upside down and made a amp bracket that sits inside the tire and held down with the spare tire bolt. Everything is completely hidden.

I had a box built last week.
Custom Audio Designs in Walnut CA built a box for me in 48 hours. Fiber glass and wood. Cost about @250. I just used my 10 inch pioneer that was already installed. The work was great, the box sounds incredible. Its also completely removable, and doesn't interfere with the access to storage or the spare tire.
