Thanks! I didn't do it myself....local installer did it. I had it done this week. They came to my house pulled the seats and door panels, had the interior for 4 days (usually 3 but because of the 4th of July) did the leather, came back out and re-installed.
Other than not having a car for a few days it was no big deal.
Actually I turned it into a bigger deal. I decided that since the interior was going to be out, I would dynamat the whole floor.
So with some help from another great guy here on SL (Thanks again XBFred!) I got 80 sq ft. of Second Skin Damplifier Pro and OverKill, pulled up all the floor and all the trim and did the whole car!
I spent alot of time on the rear wheel wells and did the rear hatch as well. Didn't do the doors (yet) didn't have enough and was too intimidated by them. But I used all 80 sq ft of the stuff.
It was a ton of work about 9 hours over three days all by myself. At times it was fun, then a little cumbersome, but it felt good to do the work myself and see how the car all went together.
Back to the seats - the Leather is from Katzkin. I went with Black as the main body and dove grey was the closest match to the grey on the interior. I had them do contrast grey stitching on the black and they added seat pockets to the rear. i also got the door panels to match with dove grey as well. (I'll take more pics)
The only thing that came out a little different than I expected is I wanted the two tone to have what they call an "insert" look which is where the bottom horizontal portion of the seat would look like the top vertical portion of the seat. Essentiall there would be a black stripacross the front on the bottom of the seat and the grey would be boxed in.
What I ended up getting is what they call a "combo" two-tone configuration. I was told that the way the seat this scion seat is designed, the kits they make don't offer the insert look I wanted. Just an FYI....for anyone else considering.
If you look at some of the other folks who got leather, the pattern is pretty consistent with that as well, so I believe them. (I'm sure someone doing true custom work could give you what ever you want)
They came out really great if anyone is considering. Worth every penny and I think the quality of leather is better than anything I've owned that came of the lot/dealer/factory.

My dove grey is as close to the interior grey plastic as I could match. Like on the interior b pillar.
I had them send all the swatch samples of colors so I could hold them up in the car.
I believe the other leather your seeing that he is calling white is actually "dove" or "pearl" I don't have my samples any more but your right they don't offer a true white, although one of those colors like you see is awful close.
My grey is darker than the picture looks (flash) it's still the lightest grey they offered though.
hope this helps.
Honestly, it looks good. But my brother bought a silver xb at the same time I did an I have to say his cloth is more comfortable and I think it has better lumbar support as well.
I've got kids though so there was no choice on my end. Cloth and kids just don't mix well.

the only reason i wanna get the katzkin is to use them as "seat covers" because no one makes real good quality seat covers that i know of. i was thinking of going with black leather with black sueded inserts. what installer did you go with?
