Speaker Help?
I am installing my new amp tomorrow and was wondering what gauge speaker wire to run from my amp which will be by the spare tire to the front doors. the amp puts out 90 wats rms if that makes a difference. oh and how many feet should i buy?

I believe 4 gauge is recommended if running 1200 watts or less, 0 gauge if running more than that. You'll find good info here: http://www.icixsound.com

For the speaker wires themselves 18-22 gauge should be fine even smaller will work ok...I like 18-22 to ensure good power flow. If the amp is feeding a sub 18 is my choice here.
For amp power leads for an amp that small you can likely run 8 or even 10 gauge wire and be fine. Check what the amp manufacturer suggests. The size of the hookups for power on the amp can also be a clue, small hookup spots generally mean smaller wire.
You should run the same size power and ground leads.

thanks for the replys any idea how many feet of speaker wire i would need to go from the amp to the doors? I have 4 gauge power wire. is that thick enough to handle a jl 500/1 and a soundstream pca4.520. i am not instaling the jl yet but a distrobution block would work when i do though right.
