Default Interior bulbs...

I am just starting to replace interior bulbs in my xb2. I know that I will be using a Luxer 1 LED kit for the main dome and then just LED 194 bulbs for the map lights. The rear cargo area bulb is a 10 x 28 with a slim opening. I am having trouble finding an LED 28mm bulb but 31mm are a dime a dozen on the internet. Any issues with just "stretching" the retention arms to fit a 31mm? I know, probably a dumb question but I had to ask.

I just changed all my stock interior bulbs (plus rear brake light) to bright white LED lights last night. I couldn't find any 28mm festoon bulb so I used 31mm for everything. I did have to "stretch" the connectors a little bit, but in the end everything works fine and the lights look great!

I just realized something too...

Why did I not just take the 31 from the dome light (especially when I had it apart) and try it back there? I suck.

I didn't do my rear license plate lights, but the vehicle manual tells you what type of bulbs they are and how to access it (you remove the panel from the inside of the trunk door).

the plate bulbs are behind the plastic panel covering the rear hatch. You need to pull this off and there are two sockets you twist out to access them. They are 194 bulbs

Seeing how nice the HIDs turned out, and knowing the blue LED interior bulbs will be here next week, I believe I will order bulbs for the reverse light and plate lights ASAP. Just that yellow color looks ghetto...

i just ordered a Super white 15- LED bulb for the reverse light. It has 10 bulbs facing upward, and 5 faceing outward in a ring. Should light up that little reverse light hole a TON. Il post pics when it comes in.

I did all the interior lights in blue and ended up not crazy about it. It is bright and nice, just thought red would look better. So tonight I got my order of red bulbs and arrays from superbrightleds.com and love them. Red is less bright in a way but I still like it.

This weekend I will be doing red LEDs in the cupholders, as well as possibly doing one in the glovebox and center console. I will let you know how it turns out and take some pics.

xbean, check out the thread I just did in the interior section. Not a lot or very good pics, but gives you the idea. Also replaced my license plate bulbs and reverse light with white LEDs.

Has anyone tried to change the bulb behind the speedometer area yet?

My goal is to remove any stock reds or oranges from the interior of my car.

Also I was dumb enough to pay for the stock lighting kit and now i'm trying to figure out how to make it better without having to add too many additional switches or gadgets.

i have it the int. guages in blue. You would have to remove the guages, desolder the old LEDs and resolder the new ones, theres about 30 LEDs you'll need. There is also another thread about this which has a lot more information
