Default Replacing the stock radio, what are some good options?

I have a 2012 with the standard bluetooth model. I would like something else, maybe with nav or an aux port.

What do you suggest?

An aftermarket radio actually decreases the value of your car vs stock... why not get the 2015 model? Look for model T10015 or 57076 (the 57076 has the Toyota logo, but is functionally identical)

  • Direct plug and play with no extra wiring to be done - can be installed in minutes
  • Very affordable; I bought a brand new dealer pull for $200 for my xB, and another on eBay for $160 for a relative. The stock 2012 unit can be resold for $60-90.
  • 6.1" Touchscreen
  • Bluetooth quality is great and is compatible with your existing controls
  • HD Radio
  • Can use USB port if you have it; if not, add-on cable is like $10 on ebay
  • Capable of navigation and Aha or Entune apps with expansion module (Entune is a million times better though)

The only potential downside is the lack of amplifier preouts, but if you're just running a sub, a cheap line out converter is fine.

If you want Navigation and/or apps, here are your options:
  • PT296-00140 = Scion Aha + Navigation
  • PT296-47130 = Toyota Entune + Navigation (newer version)
  • PT296-47120 = Toyota Entune + Navigation (older version)
  • PT296-47121 = Toyota Navigation only

All of these will require a $10-15 GPS antenna (you just stick it behind the radio in the dash) and will need a special "Y" cable (around $25 if you don't get it along with the module). Prices range from $80-200 just depending on the weather and the model you want. Note that Toyota modules work fine with the Scion unit and vice a versa, but the module will change the color of the interface based on the brand you install (Scion = orange, Toyota = blue).
