I have 2008 XB with stock headunit. I want to start by replacing the front door speakers. I am keeping stock headunit. Can anyone tell me the specs of whats in there and any suggestions of what to replace them with I am not going to run any amps and pretty much listen to hard rock or metal Thanks for any help

According to the sticky, the tweeters are 1" and the mids are 6.5" When you look for replacement speakers, look for speakers with a high efficiency rating, since you're powering them off the HU. Best bet is to go to a local audio shop and demo some since speakers are largely a personal choice. What sounds harsh to me might sound cherry to you.

You will need speaker adapters for the front doors. Rear doors will take a 6.5" speaker just fine, but you will need to drill new holes.

Oh. Why the speaker adapters then? Shouldn't 6.5"s drop in if you drill holes? Or am I missing something. Sorry, not thinking 100% right now.

You need adapters for the front. I haven't played with the rears yet, so I'm not sure.

Fronts most definitely fo sho. I made mine out of 3/4" MDF cause I had it laying around. I'm pretty sure 8's will fit in the doors with minimal cutting. But I'm not sure if there's many that will play frequencies that will mesh with the tweets...

Again, like I said, the rears will hold 6.5" without adapters.
