Default bluetooth with nav?

on scion.com/nextgen there is some info on the nav system they are offering at the dealerships now. it looks as if one of my hopes for the new xb is dashed. i see nothing to indicate bluetooth.

anyone help me bring my dreams back to life? lol!

no, I ask them at the scion backstage, and there will be no bluetooth avalable with the nav system n it does not have the upgrade to plug in the upgraded stereo like the premium system. no adapter to get hd radio

Toyota had Pioneer design the Nav system to be lower cost - hence the lack of bluetooth capability and single cd.

The good news is that a higher end unit will fit in the same space. My store offers several Eclipse options.

Pretty sure the nav is an Alpine.

no bt. and i think its a elclise since most of the nav systems with toyo are eclipse and even the link on the website says AVN which is usually the prefix for Eclipse units. but dont quote me on that.

Undisputable Fact #1: Alpine makes the Navi

Undisputable Fact #2: There is no BT with that unit

Pure speculation from someone who is a very very good guesser: Those of you in the SET region will eventually have BT (in the form of BlueConnect) available through a Port or Dealer Installed Option.

SET= South East Toyota
That is the distributor in the Southeast US.

There are several (5?) distributors in the US of Toyota products. They all operate just a little differently and have different programs they run. SET seems to have a few more things they add at port than some of the others like Gulf States Toyota in Texas.
Anyway, hope that helps.

SET and Gulf States are both privately owned. All the other ones Toyota bought back in the 80's/90's. When approached by Toyota to buy SET, Jim Moran was quoted as saying, "you don't have enough." Toyota responded, "Money?", "not enough ink the pen to make all the zeroes on the check."

GS and SET are both run rather differently, but the other regions are fairly identical being under Toyota's corporate umbrella.

I had forgotten about the other distributorships going back to Toyota. Do you know where there is a list of the Toyota owned ones? I'm kind of interested from a vehicle distribution point of view.

Thomas Friedkin is another cut from the same cloth as Jim Moran (business smarts-wise anyway). The Friedkins are really nice people too, but I understand Mr. Moran was legendary for being a nice/ regular guy.

I don't have a list of the distributors, but Gulf States and SET are the only ones they don't own.

Jim Moran (passed recently) is a legend in the business. Every dealer in every location in the country has heard of him. He use to drive around on Sundays to visit dealers, and if they were closed, he would call the owner all innocent, "is everything ok? your store is closed, are you alright?"
