End of the world. Auris to replace xB
Autonews is reporting the xB will be replaced by a version of the European Auris.
I was waiting to buy a new car because I wanted to see what the next xB was but I would never buy an Auris. I really hope autonews is wrong.

xB: Scion's signature box car will go away in spring 2015 when it is replaced by a version of the Europe-market Toyota Auris hatchback, based on the Corolla platform but equipped with a sharp-handling double-wishbone rear suspension. Expect the U.S. version to get something zippier than the Auris' 1.8-liter 136-hp four-banger, which has a poky 11-second 0-to-60 time. The nameplate may be changed.

Auris to replace xB
Yep, all the info I'm getting suggests that the Auris will indeed replace the xB early 2015.
Not a huge surprise, I think the Auris is similar to the hugely popular Honda Fit and the Nissan Note and I can see why Scion/Toyota wants to compete with them.
I've also been told the xD will be replaced by something very similar to the Mazda 2 late 2015.
2016 will have an upgrade to the tC and another new Scion model to the lineup.

I hope this isn't true... It's surprising what companies do sometimes... Taking a hit product and then literally killing it off almost deliberately....
I have rented the Yaris/FIT before and they're great cars but nowhere near as spacious as the xb... And here in California, you see XBs all over the place. People still have 2004 xb's that are still ticking and being used as daily drivers... They were hugely popular and I still they still will be but companies work under a different premise.
That being said, let's see how Scion tries to regain market share that they've been hemorrhaging for the last few years...

Some good news - Scion will come out with a compact crossover in 2016. I can't imagine it'll be as big(and compete with) a Toyota RAV4 or Honda CRV. Maybe it's a new version of the xB, one can only hope.
