Other than a few minor changes, the Daihatsu Materia is the same car as the current Japanese bB. Toyota and Daihatsu have contracts where they make cars together- or exchange parts and designs, at least.

The new xB will have some influence from the newer bB (or the car pictured), but it will be a US only design. The Materia, also, will never land on US shores.
NOT the same car...just like how you can compare the 'Matrix' to alot of Japanese Toyotas, but the 'matrix' is all CALTY, and not the same at all.

Anybody ever attended on of those market research things that automakers do? You know- they mail you something, and offer to pay and feed you if you're willing to look at some cars and fill out surveys/give opinions?

Just imagine a bunch of 18 to 30 year-olds being asked to look at the xB, and then give their input as to what they think is good and what could be better about the car...

This is where the new xB's changes are coming from:
Targeted market research tempered by design/production costs.

Yes--this has been covered a long time ago. This is the current bB which has been in production for about a year--at least the design is...........
