Default Waht other cars will compete with xB2?

OK, so we all have figured out the xB2 is not a fuel sipping, sub-compact, mini-utility car anymore. What we have now is a larger tuner-utility-wagon or something.... My question is, what other cars do you think will be at all similar to the xB2 in terms of price, size, power and utility?

Good question, the first thing that pops into mind(b/c of other post) is the HHR. I think the B looks bigger though(may just be the stance)

I believe I saw where the xB2 is 10" longer, 1" lower, and 3" wider than the xB1.

That puts it at 165" long, 63.6" high, and 69.5" wide.

The HHR is 176" long, 63" high, and 69" wide.

So, it's 11" longer, but height and width are effectively the same.

HHR, PT Cruiser, Element, Mazda 3 wagon, Matrix... Probably some others... Just about anything that's a wagon/crossover/suv that's $18-$20k with a large 4 cylinder or small 6.

The new xB isn't an SUV in any shape or form. Its still a compact whether you like it or not. Its actually LOWER than the first gen so its definately not an SUV...

Has there been any defnitive word on the Nssan Cube? I know the Cube is the same size as the xB1, but it is rumored Nissan is waiting until the next gen Cube is ready before bringing it to the US. The next gen Cube is supposedly going to be larger like the xB2.

I agree with those that say the xB2 is for a different crowd. I always thought of the xB as an underpowered box on wheels. But the xB2 has me ready to trade in my '05 Tundra Double Cab!

The xB2 will have a lot more competition than it had (though it will be liked by much more of the public). Most of the competition will come from the Element, which is due for a makeover, and the Mazda wagons (3, 5 and 6).

Whay is that? Do people really love Scion's "cool/youthful" styling most? or is Scion truly successful simply because they make "cheap and practical" cars? I know for sure some people will buy Scions simply for price, Toyota value, and practicality - even they think it is butt-ugly.

^^^ A lot of people bought the 1st gen xB simply based on price (and/or interior space), especially businesses. The new model will appeal to a lot of people who were originally turned away based on style/power.

In all honesty though, I think the xD might outsell the xB. It's the Yaris' size, Yaris priced, but comes with tons of features including the much better 1.8.

Yeah, I think so too. I think the xD will appeal to a broader audience: urban-utility gas-saving crowd, the young-driver graduation-present crowd, and even the tuner crowd (was that a supercharger on the 5axis xD?)

I may even consider an xD in the future. I am actually thinking of recommending one to my girlfriend, but I still don't know if I can stand that front bumper. As for xB2, right now, I'm not even in need of anything that size - maybe after I have kids and buy a house in the suburbs...lol
