Default Which Tires have Raised Rim Protectors?

I love the way a tire with a big fat rim protector looks. Can anybody help confirm which tires have a rim protector that looks like this?
Thanks.

Don't know if it's because of how the pic was shot...but i do know that Toyo Proxes 4 (which I had) and BF Goodrich KDW2 (which I now have) have the rim protectors.

Hmmm... Thanks. I need to double check the Falken 512s. Are they raised or recessed? I have Falken 912s right now and they have a recessed rim protecor. I know it's kind of picky but I like the raised style better.

Here's what the recessed style looks like:

I also want a quiet tire, which I heard the Proxes 4 are not really. And the KDW2s are really noisy from what I hear too. My fiend has those. They do look awesome though.

I know Michelin has some with a raised protector, but they're probably all $200+ each!

I suggest going by one of your local America's Tire Co. stores, and talking to them about what you're looking for. They can probably show you the tires also, so you can see for sure that it's what you want.

As always, logic prevails! I will ultimately walk into discount tire and do some shopping. I've never actually gone to a tire store without buying tires. They probably don't get too many lookie loos.

the Proxes 4 that I had for 40K was quiet---i mean a very noticeable difference from the kdw2 that I have on now...but the kdw2 is not YET (?) that irritating...

Cool. I'll take another closer look at the Proxes 4.

I know the Bridgestones do...but they are waaay to expensive.
The Kumho Estca ASX's I had on my other tC had the bead/rim protector and they were great tires for the money.

well for that matter....lol... it's easy to see which ones have it and those that don't. When you check out the tires online...most are either obvious in the pic if they have them...or it states it in the description that it has the rim/bead protector.

I have Proxes4's on my car and they're not all that loud. It kind of depends on the surface. I know black top is fairly loud, but plain jane concrete is pretty quiet.

BTW, my tires have lasted me about 20,000miles... I'm not too thrilled. But then again, I have the tendency to rally my car.

Whoa, lots of responses in a short time. Thanks. I know there are pics online but some can be pretty deceiving it seems. I actually haven't seen any tires online with the raised style. It seems that most manufacturers are using the recessed style and going away from the raised style rim protector. I just read that Michelin stopped putting the raised style on one of their models. Too bad... I really like the look. I' think I'l have to actually check this out in person. What I'm looking for might be an endangered species.

BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A's have the raised rim protector.

I worked tires for yeeeears and those tires were a PITA to hammer wheel weights onto.

BFGATs? srsly - like for trucks? I wanted to get those for my old Xterra but I worried about road noise. I ended up with Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos - great tire. But I digress.

I'll look into the BFGATs for my car

Lol! I had to be that guy!

I'll try to remember some others that I worked on, but it's been a little while since I've busted tires.
