Vanilla owner here. Looking for assistance on putting 18" Wheels 5x100 on 2010 xB
Hey everyone, lovely little community you have here. I've been in and out of the forum since I bought my car last year. I've never done anything drastic to a car of mine if such a little thing as a wheel switch.
I have a stock 2010 xB and recently came across a new tire set consisting of Nexen n5000 215/45r18 tires and RVM Custom Chrome Wheels 18x7.5 5x100 for only $180 (lucky auction) tires are basically new.
Basically I want these on my Scion. What do I need to acquire and do for that to happen?
If I do it myself is it hard? Can I ____ it up and endanger myself?
If I bring them to a shop and ask (great place on the other side of town does a swap/change for $50/set), what do I need to provide them to keep the bill cost low?
Any good walkthroughs? If I do it myself anything else I should do while I have the wheel off?

First off you have a problem. The bolt pattern is wrong for an xB, we use 5x114.3.
That said, you can make them fit but you will need to buy wheel adapters to convert the bolt pattern and they will space the wheel out an additional inch. It's also not a common adapter, it's much more common to want to go from 5x100 to 5x114.3. You'll spend $80-120 for a set of 4.
It's not an ideal solution but it does work. Personally I would try to sell them for a profit and put the money toward wheels that as designed to fit properly. Pull the tires off if you plan on staying with and 18" and you can sell the wheels for what you paid for them.

Spacers, hub-centric rings, and the proper lug nuts. That should do it. Do you know the offset of the wheels? That is what will determine if having them poke out another inch will be an issue or not.

If they stick out too far when you put people or a heavy load in the rear the fender can sit on the wheel and tears it up when you drive. Not as much of an issue is you are not lowered but a big problem if you are or plan to be.
Here is a good idea of what can happen with rubbing if it is not taken care of.
Stock, Ti Pkg Wheels 235/40/18s Rubbing?

Oh okay. I don't plan to lower. I don't know how and I think it's kind of dumb due to scrapping and damage to the bottom of the car body etc. However, I did learn it improves MPG? So I guess there's some reasoning behind it.
