HID Projector Retrofit

HID Projector Retrofit
Has anybody done this? I had HID's in my old Saab and they make a huge difference. I don't want to drop a kit into the stock reflector housing due to the resultant light scatter and glare, but I'm thinking about going with the folks over at www.lightwerkz.net Any thoughts or suggestions?

Just looking around the internets and notice that there are a lot of projector headlamps for sale for the tC and the xB, but there is nothing for the xD. I guess the xD isn't as popular in aftermarket equipment as the others? Does anyone know of a company or someone who is selling a set of projector headlights for the xD?

^ I hear ya, I've been on hidplanet.com for a few years and I still don't have the courage or the skills to pull of a good retro fit. You should register on that site and see if you can have someone local help you do the retro fit.

Have fun. It isn't as hard as your mind thinks it is.

Yep, looking at going with the hybrid TFX, which is the Infiniti FX35 projector with the TSX-R lens. This will preserve the bi-xenon function so the high beams will work. I'm looking forward to it, but it is going to take some time. With the waiting list, I'm looking at September at the earliest before I can get them installed. It will be worth the wait.

I was also wondering how it turned out? the two steps where you're required to *bake* the lights make this seems risky, am I supposed to leave the projector in the oven along with everything else that I can't disconnect from the headlight? And the first time around, I'm assuming you're supposed to take everything out besides what you can't but will the temperature of 225F melt anything?
(have been looking into retrofitting way back from 2005)

Honestly I say just get a pair of head lights with the required parts and send them off. Some people have the time and patience for it and some don't. Here is a DIY from another board and what he did to his 97 F-Body.
