Default a new 1... wind noise through the visor

Hi, sorry can't find that all tC problems thread... so here it is....

Here it is, I have my sunroof closed all the way.. when I drive like around 80 I hear this really loud wind noise I think maybe through the visor.. maybe theres a little uneven surface letting the wind get through.... but only happens when i drive around 80.. Any of you experienced it?

edit: sound added

It's probably caused by the sunroof. All cars with sunroofs will have a bit more wind noise, and perhaps at that particular speed, with the aerodynamics of the car, causes a more noticable effect.

My tC is nice and quiet at 80 but i do get some noise from side windows at about 100mph. I guess it doesn't matter since I usually keep it under 95mph.

...save the lecture on the speed thing...I drive fast all the time and if I crash, I'm taking you with me...

Not sure how in the hell driving 95 causes insurance to be higher. Around here in MI, 90-95 on the interstate is pretty common in the left lane as the speed limit is 70.

Your dumb as ____. When u go 95 and are 20-30 miles over the speed limit you usually get pulled over and ticketed. Which in turn is points and your insurance goes up. People are ____ing picking every little thing wrong with this car, If your doing 80+ mph every car is gonna make some sort of interior noise. Ridiculous how I own a TC and there are this many idiot TC owners out there. Every 1st year model car has some kinks to be worked out. There isn;t one car company that does not have this problem. If a little wind noise at 95+ mph is all I think the TC is a great investment.
No offense to all other normal TC drivers.

no my 92 beat up lexus doesn't have moonroof noise going 80+, when I first got the tC it didn't have that noise either... now it has.. i'm just pointing out the fault, letting ppl know what could be coming towards their tC.. normal driver or not.. I dont' believe you haven't gone over the speed limit once. 66 or 80, same to me.. over speed limit..

when I go fast, its at 4AM when i get off work probably like 2/3 cars in visible range on the freeway so shut the ____ up about being normal drivers when I'm just pointing out a possible defect. I'm not putting down this car, and am loving it so far. Theres always kinks even on older cars. If this is only happening on my car, then I know its just my car and not all tCs r built the same and i'll get it fixed at the dealership.

Please dont' let this problem thread turn into a normal vs fast driver thread, you can start a ____ all fast driver, wish i crash and die thread in off topics or something..

anyways... so none of you have experience this? I don't have any abnormal wind noise from side windows.. just the top i believe.. maybe some of the plastic moldings r been blown off..

Take your aggression out elsewhere dickwad. I don't care what "usually" happens wherever you happen to live. The point is, everywhere is different and posting a broad generalization is worthless.

What's more, I've got two speeding tickets in michigan in 19 months, and my insurance has yet to go up even though I've supposedly gotten "points" on my DMV file.

Furthermore, the post I quoted implicitely implied that one speeding directly affected insurance for everyone else, which is just silly.

<---picking up his 5 speed II TC on monday.

Name calling, now thats not nice. The 2 of you make no valid points. Doing 95+ mph is not safe, tickets or not. I would not want to be on the road with 2 idiotic drivers at 4am. Points due affect insurance, your insurance company i'm sure is a chop shop so we can rule you out. But for most people, tickets(points) equals a raise in insurance costs.

Point is, yes you can complain that your car makes a slight noise at 90mph but is it really worth a whole thread?
People just keep bashing the car for the dumbest reasons.

LOL, I have noticed this but I didn't want to say anything as I'm not a tC owner. What I have told people before is that if the tC owners that are picking on small things on the car had owned a Toyota Celica, they would've shot themselves in the head a long time ago...1st year cars always have problems...the Celica's just lasted 3 years...

Yeah, state farm is about as cheap as you can get, huh?

Regardless, the point you are still missing is that one person speeding does not directly affect the insurance rates of someone else NOT speeding. Whoopdi-do if my rates go, WTF does anyone else care. Now, if the drivers of a particular car (say, mustang cobra) can be statistically shown to have a higher accident rate or claim costs, thereby costing everyone money, that's a different argument.

Speed DIFFERENCE between two cars (as well as a myriad of other factors, including driver intelligence) matters, not any inherent problem with going 95mph. Or else you'd see dozens of deaths daily on the stretch of I-94 streching from here to detroit.

That is why I refered to as why our insurance costs go up. They drive like an idiot and doesn't care who else they hurts. They are the ones that cut you off on the interstate to get to open highway. I am not denying that I speed at all. I do, but if there is a chance to hurt anyone, I slow down. I would rather die in a wreck than live and kill someone else.

heh heh heh....

What can I say, I'm a sociopath...I need the rush. And by the way, I HAVE NOT had a speeding/violation ticket in 14 years and that's with never following the speed limit. Just have to remember to slow down when you spot those pesky cops along the freeway. So ____ off!

The moon roof is noisy on the highway. Not sure if there is anything you can do besides live with it. All 3 TCs I drove had the same problem.
