Default ? Cost for Turbo Install?

Ok i know this isn't going to be accurate but i need to know a ballpark amount of cash for MISC things that a turbo install calls for? right now i'm buying wheels, coilover's, seats, and of course the turbo itself. my question is:

How much did you guys/girls pay for the installation process? (misc. things)
How much did Tuning cost? and....
with what Fuel management? (greddy, AEM F/IC, Unichip)

(i'm gonna run Turbo Toyota's stage 1 with Unichip)

thanks guys for any imput.

I believe you can expect to spend about a grand, installation and tuning. Not 100% tho. That's what I'm expecting to spend when I get boosted at least.

it depends on where you live i guess, heere in hawaii they wanted 1.2 - 1.5 for turbo and gauge install not including tune. so i instead installed it with friends and street tuned it.

turbotoyotas stage 1 kit - 4,200 dollars
aem gauges, dezod exhaust - 2,000 dollars
letting that evo rev you out then watching him in your rear view - priceless!

for everything else there is master card! haha and i sure used mine!!!

I hope you have a unichip tuner, cause only authorized tuners can do that. Andy they will charge you more for it because of the cert.

Now I was charged $250 for the initial install, and another $300 for miscelaneouse gauges, welding, tightning and whatnot, but I've seen some people charged $1K for complete install with NO tuning.
My tuning was goingto be another $600 but I talked him down to $300 because he was unfamiliar with tCs and the F/IC so it took longer then it should have.

Now, if you were to get the f/ic, I could provide you with a few base maps that shoudl at least get you running. Then any decent tuner should be able to modify it for your particular setup in an hour or 2, and most shops charge $150-$200 per hour for tuning, plus a dyno strap down fee of $75 or so.

Honestly, except for welding the oil pan, a turbo kit is easy to install.

i know that almost everyone runs the Greddy blue, ultimate, and F/IC. and because you need a certified tuner for the unichip not many people run the unichip. BUT is there any one out there that is running a unichip on a turbo set up?

haha yeah its me and my brother's, its not boosted though, the spyder originally comes with the 1zz-ge motor that is shared with the celica gt, spyder, and matrix and also the spyder comes 5 speed. swapping the 2zz-ge and 6 speed tranny is a completely different car. 195hp on such a light car feels really nice. the VVTL-I in a 6 speed can do mid 13's on a nice cold day stock! plans for boosting that little guy is in the works though

the unichip is a great piece of tuning equipment if you have a tuner near by.

the guy that swaps the motor for the spyder's lives down the street from me, he's all over the celica and MR2 spyder forums. i think he's working on a turbo Lotus Exige right now. they come with the 2zz as well
