Default Tuning mrd-m501 amp/diamond audio d6 sub..

I got everything installed and it sounds good, but there is so many options to mess with that im sure tunes it and what not.. Also im not sure why this is, but as i turn the music up the voltage meter on the amp goes from 12v to like 13ish and it goes on and off, but the sub keeps playing. I was thinking it was the ground, but if that was the case, i think that it would just shut off and the sub would be turning on and off as well..

How did you wire up your subs? Aftermarket deck or stock one?

Do you bass or sound quality ... I have the 9835 head unit and the MRD-M501 but I have mine set up for sound quality ... I sat in my drive way for about 20-30min messing with the setting on the head unit and the amp till I got it to the way I like it ... Remember what someone else likes you may not like ... Also I am unsing an Alpine 10" Type-X sub, so my setting will be different then yours because we have different subs ... just keeping adjusting it till you find a setting you like ... You can also call Alpine Tech Support and they can help you with the settings ... I called them a few times tring to tweak my system ...

My apologies, i didnt mean to be unhelpful, however perhaps you should be more specific. What i did mith my 501 i went to my local trusty stereo shop and asked the help of some one smarter than me. But what do you want to accomplish? answer that and you may get a better answer, just a thought.

alright set your low pass filter at 80hz and xover your mids (if you've got an aftermarket deck that will, or an amp for the components/stock speakers) at 80 hz as well.

Gains should be set appropriately, which means figuring the output of the amp preouts on the back of the deck and matching the gain with that.

subsonic should be turned to 20hz since you've got a sealed box and you wont hear anything below 20 anyways.

that should just about do it i think. ask about anything else. i'm not familiar with your amp so you'll have to ask someone else.

try 80 or 100 in the low pass filter.
there is a neat feature in the manual about setting the input of the deck to match the amp. its the first thing in the manual before the settings. I have a present for you that i found on the alpine site. Whats your e mail.
If you want you can pm me. Its a word doc.

80 keeps the imaging up front, doesn't pull the sound to the trunk or hatch.

You want to set it at 80hz ... that is what I have my mrd-m501 set at ... Thats the only setting I can remember off the top of my head ... Also what headunit do you have ... Alot of your tunning will be comming from the headunit ... My 9835 has built in crossover for Front, Rear, Sub and a full EQ most of the sound quality comes from tweaking thoes ... the amp is just to fine tune a little more ... If you have a good headunit with crossover and eq you will want to adjust that first and then adjust the amp.
