cai installation question
how do i know if the clamps for the hoses are tight enough? will the whistle be louder if there not? it seem like that it would be easy for water to drip down on top of the filter when installed as a cai. water could leak in from the side of the hood and there is an opening right above the filter exposing it, am i trippin?
the hose clamps should be hand tight with a socket.
instead of tightening them with a screw driver, find the correct socket size and tighten with a ratchet...you get the fastener tighter, and you don't strip head of the bolt.
usually the paths that water tavel in an engine bay keep the water away from the engine and it's components. usually water will hit the car and then travel through little "gutters" in the hood seal and off the edges of the car. I wouldn't worry about water hitting the filter, unless you actually SEE water hitting the filter.
