I think it depends on where you live. If you live in a sandy environment this could protect your plastic lenses from getting dulled up. It happened to my Sephia after about 1.5 years driving here in Florida.

i drove alot in my previous cars from NYC to upstate to pennsylvania... my lights got pock-marked from debris.

i'm waiting on www.weathertech.com to come out with their headlight protectors... would rather pay more for assured quality than a hit or miss ebay product.

I've actually seen that 3m film in magazines. Some people even do it on the hood and fenders.

That is different than the 3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film. The 3M product IS NOT recommended to use on windshields or headlights, and is a lot thinner than those that go on the headlights. My friend had those headlight ones and while they worked well I noticed i have never had problems with my headlights, and I live in CO and drive up the moutains regularly.

i get the most abuse from highways such as the NJ turnpike. Cars and trucks (ESPECIALLY trucks... ARG) throw up dirt and little rocks from their tires and whatever their mudgaurds don't stop, your front fender/bumper/lights will.

urban highways are the worst... i think mountain areas should be ok.

That same seller has the whole tC kit, front bumper and front of hood for a little less than $400. I emailed him about it a week or so ago. The headlight kit he's selling is a proven product. I don't think I want to shell out for the whole kit (plus install which would be about another $400) but I might get the light film and try to install it myself.
