Default Does anyone know about "3M Prep Solvent-70"

I posted this in the xA user forum but I got only one response, and he wasn't sure. So if this is in the wrong spot, I'm sorry, but I have this applique for over 2 weeks.... Any help would be appreciated.

HI... I searched the forums b4 submitting this, but I couldn't find anything about "3M Prep Solvent-70"

I bought the SCION Fuel Door Applique PTS10-52041 for my Scion xA and I want to put it on, but it mentions that I should "Thoroughly clean the fuel lid door with 3M Prep Solvent-70".

I don't have this. My question is : Is there a substitute product I could use instead, or do I need to get the stuff from 3M. If so, where could I buy it.

Thanks in advance.
Jeff

mix up some warm water and dish soap (dawn). that will strip off all the wax. thats basically all they want you to do.

you are applying the applique using the wet method correct? with the dry method, you will get some air bubbles

Yes, I will be applying it using the wet method. I will be following the instruction sheet as provided in the box from Toyota(Scion). They say to use a spray bottle with H2O .

Nope. Clean area with some rubbing alcohol then use a spay bottle of water with one drop of dish soap added to it. You spray both of the surfaces going together then move applique where you want it then squeegee from the center out ward till all the bubbles are gone.
