Default Cigarette lighter fuse help!!!!!

Hi, I have a 2005 Scion tC, I use my cig lighter for my phone charger but I hasn't been working for quite sometime. I'm assuming that I have to change the cig lighter fuse, I had a hard time trying to locate the fuse box but I finally found it under the hood next to the engine (Driver's side).
I took out the top and took out all the fuses to see which one was melted but they all were fine, all the small fuses. So, is there any other fuse box I don't know about? If yes, where can i find it? Or where is the fuse that's responsible for the cig lighter problem???

Please help..Thanks.

I'm not saying to look there and see if there's a fuse box... I'm saying there IS a fuse box there.

why would you take out all the fuses, the cover you take off will tell you exactly where the cig lighter fuse is..i think its like 7.5 or something.......but if the cig lighter lights up at night then its fine or test something else you know that works,or either the charger is not working....but theres another fuse box in the engine bay also, just make sure you know what a shot fuse looks like compared to a good one...

Fuses don't melt. The metal connection in the fuse is the piece that actually "breaks" and stops the circuit. Look under the steering wheel on the left, it should be in there.

I looked under the steering wheel on the left, there was no fuse box or maybe im just missing it, but all i found was just wires connected..i tried a different charger a new one and didnt work either..is it possbile that it could be something else other than the fuse??..or that fuse box under the wheel how does it look? and how can i find it?

there is no panel on the lower part of the instrument panel. the cut out you see is for the relays, to access the fuse box you have to get under the dash and look up, you'll see it there, black plastic with a diagram of the location of the fuses underneath the black plastic panel. You could also try reading the manual, they show it there as well.

once you find it, and replace the fuse, if it blows again the cig lighter itself is loose and is shorting. Have to take it out and tighten the connections on the lighter itself from the backside. Have just recently done this on a tC, no more problems after that.

Default Cigarette lighter fuse

Ok 7.5 fuse doesn't really help narrows it down but what is the name of the fuse to find the location. My plug where my gear shift is out . What is the name of cigarette lighter fuse? Maybe that will help the OP and others if someone you know found it it would be more helpful to lost the name and the fuse size.

The 7.5 amp fuse is labeled ACC. It's for low amp accessories. The fuse panel position is 24.

The cigarette lighter at the shifter is a 15 amp circuit. It is labeled CIG. The fuse panel position is 23.

I checked both fuses, 7.5 and the 15 amp, and the cigarette lighter in the glove compartment still does not work, could there be another reason it’s not working besides the fuses?

Glove compartment? Is that the center console or the cubby hole under the radio? It's possible your lighter socket is bad. It's also possible the socket cable is shorted or unplugged from the socket.

Another possibility might be a bad fuse that isn't visible. While this possibility is remote, I'd still replace the 7.5 (cubby hole) and the 15 (center console) before disassembling the waterfall and console. Might not be a bad idea to check the fuse box connectors with a voltage meter.
