Default xB Shop Manual

Anyone know where I can find a xB Shop Manual in pdf? Hopefully for a '06.
If not, what hard copy is recommended? The dealer set is soooo expensive.

You can view it on the web as graphic images, but can't download it like a PDF for high resolution viewing, or copying and pasting text out of it.

If you join the TundraSolutions site and upgrade from free to the $25 membership, you can access and download a lot of PDF manuals. I got the Owners Manual, the Scheduled Maintenance Guide, and the Diagnostics Manual, but they don't have a Service Manual or Wiring Diagrams for xB yet.

You can head on over to techinfo.toyota.com and see what they've got. You've got to pay, and the manuals are, AFAIK, available for download only in little bitty sections rather than as one big chunk. I've been planning on setting aside a day to check 'em out, fork over the cash, and see what all they've got - just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I've seen a "cheap" manual on CD from OsidianCorp. They even have them listed on E-Bay. Anyone had a chance to see how complete these were? Are they just generic or trully specific to the XB with details? I ask because it mentions it covers the V6 and V8 engines for the XB???? If the description is inaccurate, how can I trust the product.

That day costs $10. The rest of the rates would be for professionals -- $50/month or $350/year. The day rate might be worth it if you needed a manual, had the time to spend looking, found it, and then had the time to download all the individual chapter files. Please let us know what is there if you do sign up for a day.

$10 and 24 hours to download all .pdf. Great idea Vintage.

Problem is that membership is only available to US residents with US billing addresses. I'm in Canada.

That's precisely why I haven't done it yet. I figure I need to set aside a day to go in and download like whacky. Not exactly a thrilling prospect...

I'll definitely post about it if I do.

This thread petered out 11/06 but I'm looking for a service repair manual for a 2006 xB, either PDF or a hard copy. The one on https://www.scionlife.com/scion/xb/ looks good but I can't see the print even with Text Size increased. I tried printing the "Adjust hand brake" page and the image is so small I can't use it. The Obsidian, manual mentioned above, appears to be a generic manual for lots of cars/models, i.e. "Covers V6 and V8 engines"??? Tradebit's manual http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/1120934 touts itself as a PDF but it's junk. No index no table of contents and pages are missing..

Anyone have a source—except for $10 per day/incident?

Thanks,

Kerry

Default xB Manual

I bought one of the Obsidian manuals. It is missing a bit on the body, but the rest of it seems to be there. It's for the 04-06. I don't think the factory manual changed much over the years.

At some point I plan on figuring out what is missing and seeing if I can fill in the blanks.

My biggest beef is that it is not in order.

Cheers,
Mike D

I must have missed something. The Obsidian manual I saw was for every car not just xBs. Does yours have a table of contents and an index? If the PDF was done correctly one should be able to select a topic in either the TOC or the index and be taken to that page/topic.

Kerry

BTW: After about 6 irritating emails back and forth Tradebit did refund me the full amount.

Anyone found a useable PDF manual yet? I could really use one as I'm starting to have electrical gremlins pop up.

The wiring manuals are available right here on ScionLife in the 'ICE' section stickies for each model.

You also have a PM...

I'm still looking for a free/reasonably priceded repair manual for my 2006 xB. If it's a PDF manual I want the index to be hyperlinked to the topics.
