Default Trac, engine, Vsc light up my dash/what service dept said

All 3 lit up a few days ago. I searched this forum (love that search button) and found out that a # of things could've caused it. One was that the gas cap not being on tight enough (@#???) And yes mine was not on that great. Corrected it and lights still on. Contacted toyota service dept. today, they said that could have been the reason, it should go off by themselves. Said it was OK to drive it with the lights on. Come into the shop in 2 weeks if they don't go off. And No there was no way that I could turn them off. Anyone have this problem, and anyone have the lights go off by themselves. I'm not wanting to drive my car too far, because of those lights.

It's easy to do if you follow the instructions. I just did it because of mods I had done and it seems to idle smoother and have more umph.

Do you have an intake? Check the MAF sensor.

Clean the MAF, tighten down the gas cap, then reset your ECU. If the lights turn on again, there could be a more serious problem.

I reset my ECU tons of times but the lights kept coming on. Later I found out I had an engine misfire due to a bad spark plug.

I would suggest getting the codes read before you do anything. I love how people are always more concerned with turning the light off than finding out whats wrong with the car to cause it.

If my lights ever come on I'll use my OBDII scan tool and get the codes if any.

The end of the story is that the lights went out by themselves today....less than a week. the moral of the story is to tighten up that gas cap ALWAYS. As ALWAYS thank you for your responses, I truly love this forum and it's people. Liz
