Okay, really like my 2012 TC and was very skeptical after reading online reviews of the Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ, but tonight a friend of mine brought over his brand new BRZ Limited Edition loaded with 6 speed. Needless to say I'm a HUGE fan after driving the car! Low center of gravity, great power, close ration gears in a 6 speed gearbox that is very smooth shifting. Interior layout is nice and overall the car was just plain FUN to drive and put a smile on my face. Granted it wasn't V8 power that I have driven in the past but this this is just plain all out fun and cool at the same time yet gets decent gas mileage. The one he bought was over 30K out the door with tax and tax and all, I would be hard pressed to pay that for one, but at 24,000 on the "premium" edition I would say it's a nice buy!

Do I plan on trading in my 2012 TC? No, not any time soon, really like my TC, smooth, rides great, good gas mileage, and with my stereo upgrades way comfortable for commuting to work and back! But still, I have to admin the BRZ sure is fun and really impressed me!

That's MSRP. Subaru's don't fall under pure pricing so the dealer can use supply and demand to determine how much they want to charge. For comparison, when the new Camaro SS came out in 2010 the MSRP was around $35K but dealers charge like $45 because there was such a demand.

 

I only mentioned the MSRP because the OP is thinking BRZ Premium is only $24k.

 

Haha yeah I definitely read Limited. Though tax, tag, title and what ever accessories could potentially take you to $30k.

 

You're right. The cheapest BRZ one I could get here is about $29.5k OTD. That's one reason I didn't get BRZ

 

Yep, GM never learns... they could sell a lot more cars if they didn't JACK the prices over MSRP... I would have bought an SS in a heartbeat could I have gotten one in the 32K range. I waited on my last one, bought the year end closeout and got a 2002 WS6 Trans Am in Pewter fully loaded for 28K about 4 grand off the MSRP... Should have kept that car too...

But to be honest with the gas prices nearing 4 bucks a gallon the TC was a better choice and personally I think the TC will far outlast the Camaro SS in longevity and do much better with repair costs...

The FRS/BRZ are definitely cool and priced at 24 a good car for the money... I wouldn't pay 30K for a limited though that's for certain! If you haven't driven one yet go for a test drive!
