Projector + HIDs? Help Please
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, and I haven't really posted up anything.
But i really need your help.
So I've recently purchased and installed projectors for my 05 Scion xB and I was wondering how i can put HIDs for my low beam. Since it was a plug n play projector, im running h3 low beams, with h1 high beams. If it was just the normal H4's I wouldnt have any problems. I tried contacting the seller, but all he says is take it to a professional.
Here is the link of the eBay projectors: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140765199185...84.m1497.l2649
any help would be needed appreciated thank you! :D

Question is how to hook up his H3 low beams to HID on a 2005 xB.
If you wish to now to change a H3 regular low beam to HID, you would need to purchase a H3 HID to fit in that hole. Now depending on the aftermarket projector purchase you may or may not need to retrofit for HID use.
Example with "ANZO USA" eagle eye projectors, I had to remove + modify/cut a hole in the rear housing of the low beam projector to insert the HID low beam bulb wire + now the bulb fits in the projector low beam locking socket + works perfect. The only problem is when I need to change the bulb, I have take the projector out to remove the rear low beam housing.
BE sure when you make your HID purchase, that you advise the vendor of your Scion Light bulb wire set up to ensure you received the proper size HID bulb and wire harness for your projectors.
PS You will not lose your high beam, since they are a separate wire from the low beam.
Good Luck

thank you for your help! I'll be following you guy's suggestions once i get my h3 HID's
one more thing though, it wont melt the housing right? Since HID's are lower in wattage?

PS Also, normally when you purchase after market headlight projectors, before you install it is recommended to additional seal your headlight edges with a clear silcone to prevent condensation/fogging of the inside lenses. This is known to happen with aftermarket projectors on certain weather/temperature conditions overnight + can sometimes take all day
Good Luck.......

If you had install the HID correctly. When you put your lights on normally the low HID3 beam side will go on. To put your regular high beam on, you just do as normal and move/flick your steering wheel column headlight control stick.
Also if the lights dont turn on, the xB may have a reverse polarity issue. I think I had to do this: can be checked by reversing the HID connector on the input side of the ballast + then they should work. It can also be tested by connecting the bulbs and ballasts and using the adaptor cables on the bulb to get power directly from the battery.
Where did you buy your kit from?????
a lot of the toyota and scions are known for reverse polarity issues on HIDs but i heard a story about someone else having this issue and i dont rememeber what they ended up doing to fix it
When I unplugged the original harness I replaced it with the hid harness red wire on the right black on the top.
Left one had nothing.
After that, I did the same to the other.
No high beams when I tried turning them on.
The blue "high beam" sign shows though.
