Hello everyone love the site!

My dad has a 2005 xb and both front brakes rattle. Are there supposed to be some type of anti rattle clips that go on the pads themselves something like this pic?







These clips below are there which is what the pads slide into and the cause of the rattle. Could it be they are just worn out and need to be replaced or am I missing something? His XB has 130k trouble free miles. Thank You.

 

i dont know if they are exactly the same, but my 2005 xa did have clips on the pads, but they didnt look like those you pictured
