Rear Bent Axle
Long story short, got into a fender bender, some old lady backed into my xB and hit the passenger side front fender.
The alignment felt off so I asked them to check that with the repairs. I picked up my box this last Friday and the body shop said that they aligned the front but unable to do the back as the driver side rear axle is bent. Because of the location of the hit the other party is not responsible as it wouldn't have caused it.
I said okay whatever and picked up my car. It was too late to take it to Toyota but I called the mechanic that aligned my car and he said it was bent and would cost $1600 to repair. I asked what would have caused it and he asked if I've ever had a rear accident because for something like that I would have been hit really hard which has never happened.
Anyone hear of something like this?
I've owned the car since October 2003 and it has just over 110K miles on it.
