'New' xB coming in 2016
#22
My opinion on the xB2 has always been this:
Base model, similiar to the xb2, 6spd trans auto & manual versions, I say keep the same size regarding length, slightly wider stance overall and slightly lower roof. Interior upgrades optional as always along with the different trd upgrades.
Upgraded model, RS, type x... whatever u want to dub it: all the above listed upgrades + turbo awd w/6spd trans. Tack on 5-10k on the price. Upgraded front seats and steering wheel.
I have always felt that the xb2 was amazing car that just had no follow through. With the current partnership with subaru and the boxer engine I dont see how this could really be an issue. I am sure most will disagree with me but IMO this would be an amazing car in the 24-30k range. Similar upgrades should be a factory option on the frs/brz as well.

I own both an xD & an xB - IMHO they are both great vehicles and I hope Scion survives. Never had a problem with either of them (knock on wood) - great cheap little cars.
Wouldn't mind a little more soundproofing & better mpg, but still they are the most reliable & over-all the best vehicles I've ever owned.
Can't wait to see the new models.

I hope the new xb3 will at least get the TC drivetrain. The 2.5 liter engine mated with the 6 speed manual or the variable automatic would be a hands down no brainer. Some interior upgrades should come along as well. Like the KIA Soul. Panoramic sunroof, leather heated seats and a fully adjustable power drivers seat. It should be very competitive. Especially at a $25k price. The Soul should have a run for its money.

2 bB or not xB3?
Welp, it looks like the FR-S convertible isn't gonna happen. It looks for now Scion survives with the addition(hopefully) of the Scion iM sometime next year.
What's after that for Scion? I'm still thinking in the next couple of years we're going to get a Mazda 2 like vehicle, a compact crossover, and an update to the Scion TC. We shall see.

It appears they will continue selling the xB in its current form for 2015 despite the rumors of its demise. I thought they might discontinue it and then later "resurrect" it (for 2016 or whenever the new xB3 is launched). But I'm glad they are continuing to sell the current version as a 2015 model for now.

:o
i want the backup camera on my 2013 because im lazy :D
i still think the xb is a great value despite it's horrific mpg's. that's my only beef with the car and have mentioned that maybe 58,000 on this forum already
sidenote: im really liking the newly restyled honda fit. far too small tho which is why i would still pick an xb over the fit. but still looks cool.

I just read a report, that despite it's age, the XB2 is number one in reliability. So, I can see Toyota, not wanting to make drastic changes to the XB2, even though it's mostly customers want them to. Toyotas in general are uber reliable among all their divisions,(Toyota, Lexus,Scion). Look at one of their most popular vehicles, the Lexus RX, it's in its 3rd generation since 1999. And some people tend to forget or don't even know, that in actual Japanese models, the bB and the Rumion are separate platforms altogether.

Im holding out. I want a new box. But i need confirmation of an xb3 ugh. Im worried cause lets say the xb3 comes and oh guess what, bigger engine, and yadda yadda. BUT. only in automatic. id be screwed.
I already have the the 14-15 model priced out and ready to go. just waiting on that drop.

Im at a crossroads where I need to spend a good but of cash on my Sonata, so I think Im just going to trade it in on a 2015 in March for the wife, and drive the 09 we have. Glad to see the 2015 has a backup camera.

Meanwhile, I got my "ultimate" commuter car for my 160 mile round trip commute to Louisville in Summer of 2013. I like it even more. They're both sticks. They're both in this picture.

I also bought a 2006, white. I bought it when I lived in Seattle and we brought it with us to KY when we moved here three years ago. It's the ultimate musician's car. I cram a full PA, bass and bass cabinet and still have room for a passenger.
