E153 transmission swap info
#21
Im creeping up on 300 now and once the motor is built I will be close to the magic rounded gear power number haha. I feel like this is going to be standard for built tc owners soon enough.

Transmission Conversion MR2 into 2006 Scion tC
This is not a direct bolt and requires disassembly of the transaxle. Mechanical ability and tools are required. The transaxle has to be disassembled completely to allow drilling of the case and to clean out metal shavings entirely. This requires extensive transmission knowledge, drill, taps, and puller sets. If you do not have the skills and tools, you will need to ship the transmission to me to have done. The required initial deposit will be $1375.00. This includes a core charge of $350 that will be returned when the required pieces are received by me. I will send you a list and if any are damage just the individual pieces will be deducted from the $350.00 as I require transmission components and shift linkage to be in fully functioning and undamaged condition. I will need you to remove the mounting bracket from the passenger cv axle and ship just the half that bolts to the block. This is only a price for the shift linkage, transmission mount modification, and throwout bearing.
Cost will change if you have DSS axles
This does not include: price of the transmission, labor involved for fabricating mounts, brackets, and disassembly of transmission, replacement of transmission mount bushing after fabrication is complete or shipping cost.
Details have not been finalized.

I'm only running 290hp/300tq at the wheels. I'm hoping that I will get the same 70k miles out of it like I did the original e350 (1st gear went). Been boosted for 80k miles and just rolled past 160k miles on the car. I autoX the car every other weekend. Here's hoping it lasts a little while. Doing this swap sounds potentially expensive. The e351 basically cost me $550 total since I did most of the work. Cheers to figuring this setup out. I'm going follow this for updates.

So what im understanding is i buy the tranny, take it apart and drill some holes to mount to the bell housing. Then for $1375 you modify the cable, brackets, axles, return the parts and we put them in and itll be good to go? So basically comes down to $1375+tranny and I too can have this amazing tranny swap? Or am i missing something here?

What if I was to say source me out the tranny, do all the modifications to tranny, mounts, axles, etc. and just ship me a ready to drop in and bolt tranny swap with no modifications needed. Could you do that and if so what kinda price we looking at?

Yes but if we do this I can't be responsible for internal parts if it's used. I can take pictures and make suggestions based on what I see. It's up to you. Just fyi shipping this transmission cost me 550 just to me.

If u can get a price quote going I may consider doing a swap just depends on what I'm looking at price wise. If the tranny is pretty steep for 2 way shipping then I may just have to do the tranny drilling myself and have u do the rest of the mods.
