Default Which cars draw the most tickets?

Drivers of Hummer SUVs were 4.63 times more likely to get a traffic ticket than the average driver, concludes a yearlong study by a company that helps insurers identify risks.

ISO Quality Planning, the San Francisco company that studied the records of 1.7 million drivers, compiled a list of ticket magnets that confirmed some long-held notions: Owners of the 507-horsepower Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG and similarly muscular CLK63 AMG received outsized numbers of tickets, as did the generally young owners of the relatively inexpensive Scion tC, xB and xA, and the Audi A4 sports sedan.

But also on that most-ticketed list were the Subaru Outback and the Toyota Camry Solara and Matrix, three cars not known for great speed or expressing the rebellious nature of their owners. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, virtually identical mechanically to their General Motors sibling Hummer, appeared on the least-ticketed list.

Sharing the bottom of the list? Buicks, minivans and pickups.

yeah cops tend to look for nice cars... isn't that profiling?? Who knew cops would do something like that.

I'll tell you what, i get a lot of tickets in my POS jeep that i drive for the winter! Must have something to do with almost half the body missing due to rot and that fact that i haven't spent a dime on it since i got it for free and it shows!!

It really has to do with the drivers, not the cars.

I mean really people can we say we did not see this coming? Its a brand aimed at the YOUTH market. And some old people like them too so you have the 2 highest profile drivers out there in our brand car.

damn somebody beat me to this post. oh well.

pulled over 3 wks ago, went to driving school. then got 2 tickets in the mail from photo radar, but obviously not going to pay. i know how the photo radar system works. i work for a process serving company, and its not worth a process servers time.

I am a total victim of profiling!! So my buddy and I took a cruise down to Florida to escape the cold weather for a while. During my drive down in vigina I was going 75 in a 65. Seems a little fast but not at all. I was all the way in the left lane when I just happened to barley pass and I mean creep past a cop driving. So after I pass him I get in front of him to let traffic pass and three cars zoom past me after I get over. I stay my same speed since the cop was also going that speed. The cop follows me for a good half mile then pulls me over! What a jerk! Tell me that isn't messed up! The cars that I got out of the way for were going way faster then me and he pulls me over out of all them. He saw my car and went for it. That's just wrong.

Just had to vent a little!

seriously, that would explain a lot for that high number, of course people are getting ticketed left and right for tinted tails, 5% tinted windows, loud systems etc.

I wanna know the same.

yea... i got pulled over for doin 92 in a 70... stupid move but no one was around... my radar went off and i saw a cop driving the other way so i was like whatever... bout 5 min later i see lights n sirens about a mile behind me. i put down my windows, turned off my hids, got in the slow lane and went the speed limit... he pulled a super troopers on me... he passed then stepped on the breaks and got right behind me. got a ticket for speeding then he pulled the good ol "can u put ur windows about half way up." and i ended gettin a ticket for that too.
