Hey everyone, I just got my new 2008 Scion xB, lovin it so far however i bought it with 41,000km so they say and assured me 100 times as well as in the car.
Car proof report that it was in KM but i cant figure out how anyone would have changed it, I really don't think any car company would allow that. Is it even possible?

Can any one help with this?

As far as I'm aware, you can only change the speedometer, not the odometer.

Isn't it: set to total usage and press and hold the reset to change to Mileage?

Go for a drive and find out! generally if the large numbers on the speedo are miles then the odometer would be in miles, if the large numbers are kms, then the speedo would be kms, unless the gauge face has been swapped.

I live in Canada and imported my xB back in 2006 and both speedo and odometer are in miles, I have not checked out the ones that are beening brought in by Scion Canada to see if they are kms, I will have to check that out.

Well I know for a fact that the cars Scion Canada brings into Canada has the odometer in Km not in miles. I've seen them and drove one, but it really seems that mine is just taking off in miles not Km.

What does it say next to the odo? In the U.S. you can switch the speedo back & forth between "mi" (miles per hour) or "km" (kilometers per hour) but the odo stays on "mi" no matter what you set the speedo for. If it says "mi" next to the odo then I claim BS on them telling you it's kilometers.

Yup that sounds about right to me. A bunch of BS. I'm looking into this definitely getting some money back on this deal!! but still super happy with the xB, Pics coming soon!!
