Here's the DEAL!

The install of the bushings requires you to remove the stock air box and push the tubing out of the way, or in my case, remove the CAI tube that connects to the throttle body... Both of these are very easy to do, and only require the disconnect of the MAF sensor, plus the removal of a few bolts....

Once you get the Intake Clear, you should Be good to go!

Disclaimer - This install guide is only based on my experience and for your basic information on how to perform this installation yourself. Please take every safety precaution neccesary. I will not be held liabel for any damages this can cause to your engine if done improperly, or if following these directions, as I am only a tuner like yourself. Please perform at your own risk.

Locate the Bushings in the open area... (Look for the big metal counterweight)[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 2 - Locate First Bushing Here.
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 3 - Locate Both Bushings[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 4 - Remove the Pin from the first bushing
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 5 - Remove the Washer from the first bushing
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 6 - Lift the cable and bushing off the rod and push the crappy rubber bushing out with your fingers (don't let it fall)
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 7 - That's all three parts, you want to keep the pin and washer for re-install
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 8 - Place the new bushing in the hole left there.
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 9 - Put the bushing and cable back on the rod (You may want to add a small bit of wheel bearing grease on the outside of the rod for smoother and lasting throws)
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 10 - Locate the second bushing and remove the pin and washer
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 11 - Lift the cable and bushing off the rod and push the bushing out... it's really soft...
[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 12 - Put the new bushing in and place the cable and bushing back on the rod... (you may have to wiggle a bit) (You may want to add a small bit of wheel bearing grease on the outside of the rod for smoother and lasting throws)

[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 13 - Now you are ready for reassembly, by first attaching the snap ring, then putting the washer back and and recliping the original retainer clip (Those steps to come soon)

[mcol:8b1290b743][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 15 - What you need to place back on.
[mcol:8b1290b743]][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 16 - Snap Ring Pliers are a must to get those snap rings on the new bushings
[mcol:8b1290b743]][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 17 - Snap that Ring on!
[mcol:8b1290b743]][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 18 - I had to pull the bushing off to get enough room to snap the second ring on... (Then just place it back on the rod)
[mcol:8b1290b743]][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 19 - Reinstall the washer and reinstall the original retainer clip!
[mcol:8b1290b743]][mrow:8b1290b743]Step 20 - Both Washers and Clips back on and you're good to go! Just reinstall the CAI or your stock box and feel the difference!

I agree that it's pretty straightforward, but some individuals really want to see the whole picture before jumping in

I also believe that NST will be including this online on their page and possibly shipped with them...for a good reference...

Its a perfect write up. it would cost them 4 pieces of paper, so it would be easy and cheap to throw in the mail with them. Better safe than sorry. I honestly had no clue where the busings were located. Granted i am sure it would only take 5 minutes to find. This just made life alot easier.

Wow, thats one of the best writeups that i've ever seen - no matter how simple it may be. NST should give you some commission because i'm buying them b/c of this writeup. Hopefully that didn't take too long to do. Thanks for the writeup!

Quick Q - you just reconnect the MAF sensor when you are done and thats the end of that or is there some sort of reconfiguration necessary for the sensor?

No neccesary recalibration... disconnecting it doesn't remove any settings... Just make sure to connect it back up again well.

Killer write up man! But do not forget to add a small smear of wheel bearing grease inside the bushing were it rides on the shift linkage. Will help shift smoother and also keep the investment lasting for years and years to come with flawless service!

Off Topic Split.

Keep it on topic to the NST Install...

You can do this install without taking off the CAI, but in the attempt to make it as clean and simple for others, removing the CAI and/or Stock Intake piping gives you much more room to work with ease...

Others have done the install without... but, I suggest you take advantage of the available room that comes with a quick removal of piping.

There is plenty of room, with CAI on. Good luck supercharged people with trying to put these on. Idk how your fitting those snap ring pliers down in there.

Also a little quicker method, for popping out the OEM rubber pieces, is to take a screw driver and pry it out. It helps.
