Exclamation engine build

ill be gradually getting closer to getting ready for the new engine I want in my car..i was trying to figure out how I should do it..i figured build the engine then turbo..or maybe turbo then just replace and strengthen only necessary components who has an idea on this??

I also need more details about a cam swap..not what it is but what else I will need to do in order to properly run a cam swap..so many people think you can just plug and play and I know that's not the case..i know bikes, not as much with cars help me out!

Depends how much you want to spend. I'd think short block and turbo kit would be your best bet for tons of power. I don't believe anybody makes cams for the tc2.

I'd like to see how much power you get on the dyno with just the short block done and no turbo. For $3000 I'd be real happy with 220-250 whp. But even with short block and bolt ons that's probably being pretty ambitious. I guess it'd be more like $5000 by the time your done doing short block as you'd need aem tuner and harness and then a tune. Another about $1500.

Well power is rpm x torque so the only way a short block will make more power is upping the revlimiter or somehow making more torque with the intake and exhaust. I don't see how to make more than 20 HP with that because of how good the stock tune is. Force induction is the only way sadly.

So only reason to do shortblock is to handle more boost ? Figured all the lightweight parts would output a little more power. Bigger pistons too.

I don't know of any bigger bore pistons for the 2ar due to this block being cast iron sleeved. The formula drift guy that runs a rwd tc took a 1ar lower crank and rods and built a 2.7l stoker that is boosted. Unless you can find a 1ar to scrap its going to be big $$ to get it from Toyota.

Here's the link.
