there has to be a way to cut the chip and buttons out of the oem key fob and put it in the switchblade one and rig up something so those buttons on the switchblade fob will depress down the buttons from the oem one.
does that make sense?

^^ Sure its possible, but it will be interesting at best.
The correct way would be to install real buttons on the fob, create a new key electronic layout, have a new board made and transplant all of the electronics. Of course this would be 20 hours of work and at least $50 in just making the board. All this and you may not even get good range.

nah, it wouldn't be that bad. I have been dableing around in the electronics (working on remote sunroof and windows now) and it is relativly do-able. In fact, I have a buddy that works on sht like this, I will ask him about it tonight
