XXR 513 15x7 15mm offset on xA
XXR 513 15x7 with 15mm offset on an xA. Can it be done without rubbing on a 2-inch Eibach Sportline/Tokico blue drop? Will there be rubbing with a fully laden car (3 or 4 passengers)? How much further toward the outside of the car would the 15x7 513 with 15mm offset be over the stock steelies? I'm guesstimating this would push the wheel about 1.5 inches toward the outside, but I could be wrong. Thoughts? Anyone with this or a similar setup?
Oh, I almost forgot. If it has any weight in the matter, I'm also considering 195/55 rubber with this setup

a first for 15x7 with 15mm offset on sportlines?
Nobody? Guess if I give this a go, then I'll be the first. Pretty leery about jumping on it without any insight from others, but it seems doable.
Anyone know wheel size and offset for the stock steelies? Yes, I know they're 15s; but what about the width and offset? I've heard they're 5.5", but I've also heard they're 6". Haven't a clue about the offset. I think I"ll pull a wheel off today while I'm doing an oil change to see if the numbers are pressed or etched into the steel.

I took a look at the OEM steely today. It's stamped with the following:
[J 15x5 1/2JJ DOT (some symbol shaped like a pill capsule) 8 06/55KW (some other symbol shaped like a donut) 22]
Attached is a photo of the stamp.
I get the 15x5.5, but the rest of it is a mystery to me. The symbol shaped like a donut I suppose could be a symbol for offset. If that's the case, then either 55 or 22 could be the offset; but I'm really not sure. Even the owner's manual doesn't state the offset, just the diameter and width.

Use this guide to tell what the offset is, set a straight edge across the back of rim and measure the distance to mounting surface to find backspace.
then you can view the difference with this calculator. S/B close.

Dude, your golden. I definitely wouldn't have thought you'd seen that thread having asked about them, so I didn't bother letting you know that a 15x7 +15 lowered two inches will be fine. Just don't have heffers in the back.

Do you know how much further this would poke over the stock setup? The front fender looks like it can handle up to 20mm more negative offset over stock, while the rear looks like it could handle about 40mm. So, if 15x7 +15s are going to poke 20mm or less over stock, then I'm probably golden. I'd have to get out there and do some actual measurements to confirm the stock lateral fender gap to make sure. That, or someone with a similar setup chimes in.
Right now, I'm still not sold. I need to know for a fact how deep the water is before taking the dive.

I get it. So go to that thread and personally reach out to some of those guys. Looks at their last "activity" to see if they are still come on here, and if they do, send them a message, or reply to that thread because that should send them an email as well to wake them up.

I've got my eyes on a set of 15" Konig Heliums now, at around only 11 lbs. a pop - talk about low rotational mass. And they're relatively inexpensive to boot. I could always add hub and wheel spacers as deemed appropriate. A 195 tire on a 7" wheel isn't going to give me a noticeable amount of traction over a 185 on a 6.5" anyway. Not to mention, I can probably source a 185 tire with better road-going capability than the crop of 195s out there. Now, a 205 on a 7-inch wheel vs. a 185 on 6.5? That'd be pretty hard to ignore.
Later.

not sure if my input will help or not since i'm late haha.
with a 2 inch drop on the xA, you still have plenty of room to fit almost anything. 7 inch width is fine since since you got a +15 offset. anything higher than 40 or 42, i forgot, you'll need a spacer in the front to clear the caliper.

Thanks, criminal. But I've already been through that thread (and many others). There isn't much solid info in XAs running with 15x7 15et and a 2-inch drop. There's plenty on the 15x8 XXRs, but most of it concerns the XB. Not to mention, I'm not interested in going that wide.

Koni yellow. Still debating on tire size.

Mrsriotdoll the 522 with the same spec. I believe she is on sportline with stock shock/strut. She have a rs3. But she have the stock 185/60 tire. I should get my 522 in 16x7 with +15 in a week. I'll let you knows how it turn out. I'm on sportline with

I went with a 195/55 tire for the 6.5-inch Konigs, and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. Glad that I went a bit wider than stock. 205/55 or 205/50 would have worked too, but I'm pretty sure that the 10 mm extra width would have been functionally purposeless. If I were you, and I had gone with my original intent (15x7 wheel), I'd go with a 205 width tire for sure. If you ask me, a 205 matched with a 7-inch wide wheel is just about ideal, depending on the tire (tread compound/sidewall integrity/traction specs/etc.) and your personal intentions of course. I decided to take a turn for function over form, hence the reason I went with the Helium.
Adverse road conditions in the St. Louis area is keeping me from installing the new wheels/tires. But as soon as the weather breaks, I'll get them bolted on and post some photos.
EDIT:
Here's the thread detailing the process I went through while trying to properly mate wheels/tires and suspension mods:

I know I promised photos, but instead, here's a YouTube video demonstrating the static results of my final decisions:
Function over form on this one. After researching the XXRs quite a bit, I discovered that they were just too much. Too much weight + too much show = too much slow. Performance-wise, the Heliums are above and beyond anything XXR could offer. They're also a tremendous value over the high-dollar ultra-light competition.
The only thing more that I could ask for with this setup is some race-specific rubber. The Hankook Ventus' can get a bit squirmy when pushing to 7/10ths, but they're an excellent all-arounder, and I'm estimating that I'll manage to squeeze at least 40,000 miles out of them.
I'm also really shocked at the performance/value of the Road Magnet springs when paired with Koni yellows. Check out the link above for more information.
