I just got new rims size 18x8 35 offset, tires 225/40/18. I searched before getting them and according to the chart I should have been tucked, and not rubbing:

I am lowered on Raceland coilovers with half a finger gap all around with rolled fender liners in the rear and no fender liners in the front. Why am I still rubbing?

most likely need some stretched 215/40/18 tires instead of using 225/40/18. Try that and you will get rid of rubbing, Untill you drop it some more and then you will need some negative camber adjustments most lkely

stock tires are 215/45/17.

your setup is 225/40/18.

you added an inch of rim and 10mm of tire width.

the second number is the height to width ratio.

so even though it went down by 5, your taking 40 of 225 instead of 45 of 215, which is a not a big diff.

might want to go with a 215/35 if its really rubbing that bad.

have you had an alignment yet? might just want to get one and see if they can tweak your specs so that it doesnt rub anymore.

Yeah it seems that its the width of the tire that is creating the rubbing. My options are either swapping them out for 215s ($300 for tires, $50 for mount & balance w/ stretch, plus I have to wait to sell my 225s which is a pain), or I can take it for an alignment and have them adjust the cambers but im not sure how much that would cost. Either way it seems like the second option would be the easiest.

It just sucks because the chart said if you run "18x8 offset 50-30, 235 tire width (wider than mine)" you would be tucked.

I don't like this rubbing business.

yea its says tucked because if your car was lower the rim would be tucking.
the chart isnt meant to help people with rubbing issues, its just there to tell your what rim and tire setups you can run to be flush or tucked.

just leave the tires on until they wear out and stop rubbing.

I just called Bear Alignment, Glendora (here in SoCal) and they said they would adjust the camber and do a 4 wheel alignment for $70. I'll keep you guys posted.

I hope they dont, for your TC's sake LMAO...JK bro Honestly I dont think so, but a upholstrey shop can do it. Usually lowriders get that done. Its a different kind of pleating work, but it can be done by a interior specialist

dont pay $70 for 1 alignment.

you can get lifetime alignment at alot of places for less than $200
