dude all you need is a lift and someone who knows enough. i do this shizz in my school alot. its just a pain to take off the tranny then throw back on thats the hardest part. then just being careful with actually putting the clutch in and putting the bolts on. my teacher once stripped one haha wasnt fun but it honestly isnt hard
dealers charge book price and itll take them alot less in time if they are good

yeah some places charge book prices. Stupid way to charge, since it never takes as long as its booked. I had a dealership quote like 500 for springs and struts, just the install. Found place that didnt charge by the book and its only 100

I dont know if any of the bandwagoneers in this thread has actually had their clutch and flywheel replaced on their tC, but let me tell you something. It is the BIGGEST Pain in the ___ in the history of the world. Ever wonder why you have so much room in the front of your engine bay? Because everything is pushed back, including your transmission's back housing.

wait, it the price of $700 INCLUDE purchase AND install? or is that just labor. Average performance shop rates should be around 70-85 bucks an hour. and a clutch replacement should at MOST should be about 5hours worth of labor. so on the HIGH side you should be looking at around 450 in labor.. I would expect more reasonable about 375 in labor and about 350-400 for a performance clutch...
if it's 700 out the door its reasonable.... but if thats just labor... its more like Highway Robbery...
