So seeing as this is the ULTIMATE Scion xA Short Shifter thread, let’s talk about some of its features:

-35% throw reduction

The Scion xA is a great all around car but the stock shifter is severely lacking in feel and precision. The stock throw was fairly long so we provided a 35% throw reduction. How did we come to this number you ask? Well we didn’t pick it out of a hat as some of you may be thinking! This specific short shifter underwent heavy testing. We developed many prototypes and with the prototypes we also tried different throw reductions ranging from 20% to 50%. Right at 35% is where our test car drivers and customers felt it was perfect!

-2.5” shift **** height reduction

Again this was the result of many prototypes and testing with many different drivers. The stock Scion xA shifter had a very long and tall shifter shaft that was both uncomfortable and an eye sore. Therefore in an effort to be more visually pleasing and to further improve upon the location of the shifter in relation to the driving position, we determined that a 2.5 inch drop in shifter height was the ideal reduction for the Scion xA.

-The Most COMPLETE Short Shifter Kit Available

In an attempt to provide our customers with the most COMPLETE Short Shifter Kits on the market, TWM Performance designed solid Base Bushings and Cable Bushings to compliment the Short Shifter. Base bushings help to solidify the entire shift assembly to the floor thereby reducing flex, and increasing feedback and feel in the shift assembly, while the cable bushings serve the same purpose, but are located in the cables on the transmission end.
