Thanks for all the research and effort you went to! None of the brands appear to specify that they will fit an '06 xA. Do we have a long wait ahead of us?

If it says it will fit on an xA, no matter what year it is, it will fit.

Default Unhappy with Weapon R Secret Weapon on my xA..

Recently I installed a Weapon R Secret Weapon on my xA.

I must say that I'm not very happy with it. The installation was more of a hassle than any other single part I've put on my car, including the DC Sports exhaust header. Instructions were poor and literally impossible to follow, the fit is so bad that it seems like the intake may have been designed for an xB and not an xA, and the filter location
is not well thought out at all. After only a few days, the filter fell off of the intake pipe, likely because the location of the clamp that holds it on is so hard to access so that it can be tightened properly, and there's no lip or tab to hold the filter on; it relies on the clamp ONLY to keep the filter in place! Not good considering the thing points down!

Overall, I'm happy with the function of the Secret Weapon, but certainly not the form. It was too difficult to install, and will be too much of a hassle to maintain. I've even considered removing it and putting the stock intake box back on,
but it's do damned much trouble that I don't even want to waste my time doing that. Now, I just check the filter once a day to make sure it's attached, and hope the short time it spent off of the intake pipe didn't cause any irreversible damage.

All of this would be somewhat easier to swallow if I had received a response from Ray at Weapon R when I politely addressed these concerns in an e-mail. However, it's been a week and I still haven't heard anything. Not quite the customer support I had come to expect, since research and purchase was quite a breeze.

So in conclusion, I'd warn you all away from the Secret Weapon intake system if you have an xA. It's just not worth all of the trouble, and until Weapon R offers an explanation of why things are the way they are, the design just doesn't make sense.

i was in the same situation as you were with the volant. i was really looking forward to installing the Volant (including the piping through the Fog Light bay), however i have a Tanabe Front Strut Bar which would be in the way of the Volant.
I wasn't about to get rid of the Tanabe strut so I'm moving on to an AEM CAI. Not too many xB's are equipped with the Volant... and that's why I wanted one; to be a little bit different. oh well!

You know I should've gotten to you sooner. You should note that the DC sports Strut tower brace and the Hotchkis Strut tower brace protrude forward into the engine bay. That is the primary reason that those strut tower braces will not fit with the volant intake. However the TRD (non-hotchkis design), Tanabe, and APR type braces are one straight bar connecting the two tower points. While I cannot stipulate with any certainty (since I do not have a volant intake), it may still be possible to install the volant intake on your car. can anyone with the volant verify?

I was wondering does anyone have any experience with filters like this brand.....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...55840701QQrdZ1

It appears the hardware is home-made and they are using a Blitz Filter....

Also how about this...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...55724597QQrdZ1

Again It appears to be homemade piping and a name brand filter.

Anyone with any experience with these products? The price makes them oh so attractive, and luckily these don't use foam filters like other discounted setups.

THX

I can not say enough about the Blitz Induction Cover and I am a former CAI guy.

It's the torque that is so cool to have it back!!!

I still rate the Blitz pretty low, only b/c its possible to DIY the same effect for less than half the price. That being the case, I don't see the need for people to spend the extra money.

As for the sticky status... I don't know what happened to it. It used to be sticky... but maybe something happened when I edited it. I'll ask about it. But the post is still easily accessible from the vehicles menu

Also, the K&N for the xB is CARB exempt.

Hello guys!
My name is Theodore, and I come from Greece.
I want your help about the AEM intake that I want to buy for my Tsport so i want some information’s that will be very useful.

First of all the your known Scion here in Greece is called Yaris (Toyota - Yaris) and i have the 1.5L. So because the AEM gives the intake systems for the xB I want to help me if I can fit it on my Yaris!
I will purchase the intake via internet and i need to know if it will fit in my car that is as i know the same with the Scion xB.

Here is a foto of my engine http://pic1.picturetrail.com/VOL1113.../156256861.jpg and its the engine bay + motor from your xB.

So i can fit the AEM AEM Cold Air Intake (AKA AEM L-pipe, AKA AEM Short Ram)
Type: Cold Air Intake
Part no.: 21-567
that you have shown in this Topic?

Thank you for your time.

Theodore

If your Yaris is the same as the Yaris that was just released in the US, then you should get one that is vehicle-specific. If it's not out now, wait about six months and it should be available.

Here's the US 4-Door Yaris:
