Default 2005 xB Accelerating Whine

I have a 2005 xB and noticed a whining/winding noise when accelerating. This noise starts at 2k rpm and once I hit 3K it stops.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? If so what was the problem?

Please help.

Make sure your transmission fluid is full. And it might be your alternator and belt pulley, water pump, or something like that. It's an old car. Take it to the dealer for a look over.
