First time this happened to me. Some chick driving a manual honda lets go of the brake and her car starts rolling back. She's rummaging through her car paying no attention so I honk and reverse my car to avoid her from hitting me.

This ever happen to anyone?

Dude, you got the wave - it's all good.

IMHO she was most likely looking for something to write her number down for you, so you could be smashing it later that day. You ruined it by honking.

Anyways, real answer: No. Has not happened - and I drive a civic SI (manuals only!). If I need to "rummage around" - I pull up the ebrake.

The one thing that ____es me off (and this was not your case) is when people are RIGHT on my ___. There should be about a foot between vehicles (at least!), and its usually redneck mullet dudes in their truck, that like to see how close they can creep up on a lowered vehicle.

I'm sure Tom will hop in here and say that he does it all the time to people

Al, you nailed it as always.

Usually, I'm in the the "chicks" position on an incline, and some dirt bag gets right up on me. Happens all the time. So what do I do because they were too ignorant to assume I'm manual? Yep, you guessed it. I roll back within inches of them and take my sweet a.ss time once the light changes. I don't need room, but they should always assume that someone would. Idiots.

Did you wave back at her with 4 fingers down?

On inclines I don't even use the brake pedal or the handbrake. Clutch and gas pedal balance = No roll.

Travis, I know you aren't giving me advice? I am the master at holding steady on a hill. I'm saying I roll on purpose to show them I'm manual so they realize how ignorant they are for pulling up so close. Had I be terrible at incline starts, I could potentially roll back and hit them. So I come close to show them not to do that to the next guy.

I was just lost for a second. I was trying to figure out who or what your response was referring to. Besides possibly me, the only other thing you could be referring to is Al (torque) mentioned yanking the brake when rummaging. So are you saying you clutch match when rummaging? Otherwise, your post didn't really make sense, except for the "4 fingers down" comment.

I don't rummage when I'm on a hill/incline. I'm to busy paying attention to my surroundings. The handbrake comment is what sparked my comment. But as I mentioned, there is nothing I have to rummage for while on a hill/incline.

I'm sure Al isn't rummaging at every single light.

Your comment was still a bit out there and didn't make much sense, and now we're all offended.

No no, I rummage at every light. If there is a rummage sale, IM UP ON IT.

Usually, I am looking for my concealed carry weapons (I prefer g23 40 cals), loose ammo, knives, possible poison darts, maybe a ninja star. Things to take out other hostile drivers with. And thats just on Sunday to church.

I once kicked a bear in the nuts because he roared at my car while I had the right away. And then maced him in the face and spit on his cubs.

Everyone rides up on me on hills. Almost always a big truck, but 99% of the cars here are big trucks, so I don't know if that really says anything. I always cheat on hills because I'm afraid of rolling into them. Especially in the tC... I'm still getting used to the clutch's sweet spot for stopping and starting.
