I remember an old post on here equating these engines to costing about $100 per 1 hp gain. From my own experience with my xB, I'd say that this is a good assumption to maqke when going into modifying one of these engines for power.
Intake: $100 - $250.
Header: $100 - 300.
Exhaust: $150 - $550.
Being extremely generous at saying you might get 9 - 10 HP from it all.

This relates to alot of the turbo setups too. Pay $2500 for a Greddy preset kit, you might get 25Hp out of it.

If you want 10HP, expect to end up putting about $1000 into it.
Nothing scientific about this idea, but it really seems to go that way.

60hp=$6000.

Putting some real money into your xA would be a very cool project, but not reasonable for a daily driver. If you love your xA, go for it, but if you want something to move fast- the cost equals a faster used car.
