Did a little work on the interior to get ready for the TORC Toyotafest show this past Saturday.

I pulled the dash apart and painted the center pieces black. I also painted the red stripe on the center A/C and head unit pieces.

After the work was done I went to one of my favorite car shows every year. This was the 17th annual T.O.R.C. All Toyotafest in Long Beach at the Queen Mary. The iQ was displayed at the FIVE:AD booth along with the Prius and the new Scion FR-S. Good times.

I built a stand for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from a couple of microphone stand goosenecks, a base and a mic holder that I modded. I used a sheet of black plastic cut to the size of the Tab and two brackets to mount the Tab to the stand. Velcro holds the Tab onto the plastic backing plate.

Now I can use my rooted Droid Razr as a wifi hotspot and access the internet from my iQ. I have Pandora and Google Play Music for audio, Netflix for movies and I can check my email, skype and Facebook from my car on a 10.1 inch screen.

Lots of fun!

Looks pretty good. How much does it get in the way of passengers sitting in the passenger seat?

I sat on that side to try it out and it was fine. My wife has much smaller legs than I do so it should work out great. The mount swivels so she can use the Tab as well. I have several movies loaded she can watch while we drive.

They are "one offs" commissioned by Scion from FIVE:AD. Never going to be in production, trust me I've tried. LOL

Scion Corp owns the rights to the design. They won't let them be reproduced.

Just read this whole thread, killer quality and vision. This thing is by far the best iQ I've seen. In for more updates.

Yeah this is amazing. My poor CRX is sitting outside feeling neglected; this thread makes me want an iQ badly.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm having a blast with the iQ.

I displayed in the Air-Runner booth at the Wek-Fest L.A. 2012 show over the weekend and the iQ won 1st Place K-Car and 2nd Place Scion. Lots of fun!

Got home from work tonight and there was a little package waiting for me, the nice folks at Odyssey Battery send me a new battery for the iQ.

With a little modification to the battery hold down, it's in and ready to rock!

Many thanks Odyssey Battery!

Is that a light weight battery?
Nice thread, I've enjoyed seeing the build.
If I had to get rid of my 1st gen xB, I'd get the iQ.

The iQ went into Tanabe USA last December for fitting on the strut tower bar and the frame brace. The strut bar is completed and the frame brace will be available in August.
