it can probably work but if you swap from auto to manual you could have some issues. You might need a new CPU since the gear ratios on an auto are different (higher) than the manual. Might have a high idle after and your car Can shut off in idle after driving a bit. I'm telling you this cuz there was this one guy in my class with a Celica that swapped the tranny n had these issues.

Which equates to basically...he did it wrong. Aside from that, Rob isn't even with World Racing any more, who also isn't doing Scions any more so this swap is all but dead.

Why isn't World Racing doing Scions anymore? Are the parts still available? I still want to get one of the Descendant Intake Manifolds if someone knows where I can get one for my first gen tc?

I did the auto to manual swap with no issues. If you keep the auto ecu the only problem you will have is permanent CEL because the ecu will be looking for shift solenoids that no longer exist. As far as going to a 6-speed and why descendant is not doing scions anymore, I heard Chris Rado signed a contract with Mercedes and ever since then word racing have been bashing the scion platform. It sucks because there were plenty of people that wanted to do the 6 speed conversion including myself.

Descendant wasn't making sustainable profit margins on their Scion stuff to continue with the platform. The profit margins on the Scion stuff is insanely low compared to say the Mercedes platform. Not to mention that most guys whom own the Scions want quality for no $, so he felt it was best to move on.

The theory behind it was the less time in one gear or another equates to a stronger scenario versus holding out one gear forever and a day. It also changes the dynamics of driving it and would make a more ideal scenario for say road racing with it and if played right driving style wise, street driving can even benefit from the 6 gears with better throttle response and fuel economy.

I think it also helps the profit margin when a platform has less aftermarket support and thus less competition. Volvo aftermarket is probably a lot like the Mercedes market in that way. There are few choices and thus high prices (ECU tuning being one exception). One thing that killed Scion/Toyota for me was the insistence on locking down the ECU. I've all but abandoned my Scion with regard to future upgrades in favor of my Volvo. A simple $600 flash from ARD and my T6 will make around 345 hp and 380 ft-lbs torque with daily driver reliability. I really wanted a Dezod S1 for my tC but the cost/gain for a FWD car being driven in snowy Colorado just didn't add up for me. If I were still in AZ things might have been different, especially if the Allen Racing pIggyback hadn't disappeared.
